Gatherings is a unique event venue to hold your private
parties or business meetings. Whether you are interested
in small destination weddings, have intimate second wedding
plans, looking for rehearsal dinner ideas, planning a special
birthday or anniversary party, or looking for a unique location
for your Christmas party, Gatherings is sure to delight
you and your guests.
We are one of the newer event venues in Monterey County,
and are located in the tranquil town of Pacific Grove, just
off of the main drag, Lighthouse Avenue, where many wonderful
shops and restaurants are located, and just two blocks north
of us is Lovers’ Point (a famous location for wedding ceremonies).
You can read a little more about our special little town
of Pacific Grove below.
As our name implies, this is a place to “gather” your friends,
family and clients. When your event calls for an atmosphere
that is warm, inviting and intimate, with a touch of sophistication,
we hope Gatherings will be the location that comes to mind.
The home was built in the Victorian era and is a perfect
boutique-type venue offering exceptional food and grand
service.
The charming décor includes traditional wallpapers, faux
painting, antiques, chandeliers, lovely upholstery and draperies.
And, for fun, we have hanging throughout the house reproductions
of some of history’s greatest and influential painters.
The furnishings and area rugs are eclectic and traditional
in style and there are two fireplaces, one in the Parlor
and one on the Deck, all creating a warm and inviting venue
for any of your special occasions. For background music,
you may wish to have a musician play our beautiful Baby
Grand Player Piano or we can have it play the music from
a CD that can be created especially for your event. Because
we have one of Monterey Peninsula’s favorite catering companies
on-site, Classic Catering, we have put in a window between
the Music Room and the Kitchen that will allow you to view
our beautiful Demonstration Kitchen. Our recent renovation
allowed the addition of some technical amenities such as
a Sound System, Plasma TVs, and Wireless Internet Connections.
Last but not least, the home is wheelchair accessible!
Gatherings has a 75 guest occupancy limit which makes it
a perfect fit for cherished and special occasions such as
small weddings, intimate second wedding receptions, rehearsal
dinners, special birthday or anniversary parties, as well
as Christmas and other holiday parties.
Whether you are looking for Monterey County Wedding Sites
or an Venue for a 40th Anniversary Party Idea, we at Gatherings
look forward to sharing our home with you and making your
special event a uniquely memorable occasion.
Pacific Grove, Monterey County
Pacific Grove, or “PG,” as the locals call it, is where
life’s simple pleasures abound – a quiet stroll, a good
book, a nap. You can probably do everything there is to
do here in a day, but as Great Getaways reports, “That would
be missing the point”.
Even without binoculars, you’re likely to spot loads of
sea lions, sea otters, and harbor seals as well as schools
of dolphins, acrobatic humpbacks, and the occasional orca
in the Bay. Between July and October, the Bay plays host
to one of the largest gatherings of blue whales in the world.
Arriving in October, Monarch Butterflies cluster together
on the pines and eucalyptus trees of our “Butterfly Sanctuary.”
The butterflies’ migration to Pacific Grove is so unique
and inspiring that Pacific Grove is nicknamed "Butterfly
Town, U.S.A."
For those looking for a little more action, it’s a short
drive to neighboring Monterey, Carmel, and Pebble Beach.
Monterey County has been described as the greatest meeting
of land and sea, encompassing some of California's most
stunning scenery while offering world-renowned attractions
and recreation. Some of the attractions are World-Class
Golf Courses, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman's
Wharf, 17-Mile Drive, National Steinbeck Center, Elkhorn
Slough and Monterey Wine Country. History buffs will enjoy
walking Monterey's “Path of History,” looking for landmarks
like Custom House, Cooper-Molera Adobe, and The House of
the Blue Gate. If you love the outdoors, go tide pooling
along the rocky shore, ride horseback over open meadows,
or hike in one of our many nature preserves.
And for a place to take that nap, there is no short supply
of beautiful Inns, B&B’s, spas or hideaway resorts in
town or scattered along the neighboring coastline. For more
about places to stay in the city of Pacific Grove and
Monterey County area, you may want to visit the Pacific
Grove Chamber of Commerce or Monterey
County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
